Certificate II in Retail (SIR20207) Summary Certificate II in Retail has been designed as the standard entry level qualification for the Retail Industry. It applies to those wishing to develop the skills and knowledge to begin a career in the Retail Industry. Likely functions for those who complete the qualification include working within clearly defined contexts and under direct supervision. It involves interacting with customers, performing stock control, operating point of sale equipment, balancing the register and minimising theft. This course may be completed through a Traineeship pathway or a fee for service enrolment. Qualification requirements To achieve a Certificate II in Retail a total of 14 units must be completed. This comprises: - 9 core units, and

Duration The duration of this course can vary depending upon previous retail experience. Generally the duration ranges from 3 months to 12 months. Assessment The assessment is completed through a number of means. For example the participant will complete the following; short written assessments, observation of the trainee performing specific tasks, verbal questions, role plays, workbook tasks and supervisor feedbacks.
